Rock Flume - Katara and Toph

Huzzah! The first art to kick off my new phase of actually giving a crap. (Also, a scanner.) I used Copic Multiliner for the lines, and Copic Sketch for the basic coloring. Then I touched up the lines and water and rock in Photoshop Elements. I didn't have a good tan color for Katara, so she wound up being almost entirely relined/colored digitally. >< I hate that!! I'm really proud of the coloring job I did on Toph.

Technical stuff aside, TOPH ROXSOX YO! Avatar has the pleasure of being the first cartoon/anime where I love the female leads as much as the males, if not moreso. They were so cute bending together in Tales of Ba Sing Se that I thought, what if they did something Toph wanted to do instead of what Katara had suggested?

My brain thinks this is something Toph would enjoy. EXTREME ROCKSLIDING! Katara looks even more terrified than she did in the mail cart in Omashu, but Toph is way more terrifying than Aang, so I guess it's okay.
